Mohamed Dafalla, MD

Mohamed Dafalla, MD obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the National Ribat University Faculty of Medicine in Burri, Sudan. In addition to his education, Dr. Dafalla completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at Howard University. He is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Dafalla specializes in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism and sub-specializes in diabetes and weight management. He speaks fluent English and Arabic.

Dr. Dafalla chose to pursue a career in medicine because he has always enjoyed learning about biology and wanted the opportunity to improve people’s lives through effective healthcare practices. Dr. Dafalla decided to specialize in endocrinology after completing a year of clinical rotation hours during his residency. He was intrigued by the wide array of body functions the endocrine system impacts, and he enjoys seeing how the treatment of endocrine disorders can make a difference in his patients’ lives. Dr. Dafalla is a compassionate doctor who strives to explain complex medical practices simply so that his patients can be active participants in their own care.

When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Dafalla enjoys jogging, cooking, and watching comedy.
