Fred Dawson, MD

Fred Dawson, MD obtained a Bachelor of Science in mathematics at Weber State University and a Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition to his education, Dr. Dawson completed an internship, a diagnostic radiology residency, and a pediatric radiology fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is board certified with the American Board of Radiology and specializes in pediatric radiology. He speaks English and Italian.

Dr. Dawson was drawn to pediatric radiology after his daughter was diagnosed with cancer (neuroblastoma) at the age of one. As the father of a pediatric patient, he had a front-row seat to observe the vital role that radiologists played in his daughter’s diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Dawson has found that compassionate communication is key to a successful doctor-patient interaction. Whether conferring imaging results with a patient or discussing the available image-guided treatment options, clear communication ensures knowledge and trust and allows the patient a key role in managing their care.

When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Dawson enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports (especially basketball,) working on computers, completing home improvement projects, camping, hiking, fly fishing, and skiing.
