Eric Root, DO

Dr. Root first earned his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor study in Biomedical engineering at Arizona State University where he graduated Cum Laude. He then continued to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

When Dr. Root was younger he started having random back pain which quickly became radicular in nature. This pain limited his mobility and functionality in his day to day activities and lasted for close to 2 years. Dr. Root thought that he was doomed to suffer for the rest of his life. However, he finally went to a specialist at which time the specialist suggested surgery. He underwent a microdiscectomy which cured his pain and restored his functionality. He considered this a life changing medical treatment and ultimately the reason he chose to go into medicine. The change for him was night and day. Dr. Root chose medicine so that he could return the favor and pay it forward.

Dr. Root specifically chose family medicine because of the breadth of exposure in provides to all ways and walks of life. He believes that variety is the spice of life and this specialty provides quite a rewarding variety of pathologies, procedures, age ranges and opportunities to cultivate healthy individuals and families.

Outside of work Dr. Root enjoys a plethora of outdoor activities. Golfing and hiking are at the top of his list as well as experimenting in the kitchen or on the grill. Dr. Root is married with 2 step-children who he enjoys spending time with along with his extended family.
